Despite the fact that the app is currently running on alpha mode, the company is already seeing success with their early adopters.

Makara, the leading SEC-registered robo-advisor for cryptocurrencies, today announced the launch of its service and its availability on the App Store, according to a statement released by . The app was officially registered with the SEC earlier this year, and demand for the service has already surpassed 20,000 registrations on waiting lists, with an average of more than 350 new registrants per day.

Massive demand for a cryptocurrency robo-advisor registered with the SEC

Makara wants to make investing in cryptocurrencies more accessible to everyone through index-like allocations called baskets. The app uses investment technology designed specifically for cryptocurrencies and has been tested for the past three and a half years, giving customers an intuitive and familiar experience. We believe Makara solves real and existing barriers to retail access to the cryptocurrency market, and the initial interest from our waiting list gives us confidence that our statement is correct, Jesse Proudman, co-founder and CEO of Makara, said in a statement. He added: It is still a retail asset class, but not a single asset class. We believe Makara can help any investor learn more and realize the full potential that cryptocurrencies offer. The platform currently has a few beta clients, but Makara already has millions of dollars in assets under management (AUM). Given the initial demand, Makara’s waiting list will remain open for the next few weeks as Makara continues to attract waiting list customers to the platform. They won’t own those assets either, Proudman says. At Makara, we believe investors deserve more than Wall Street dressing around crypto-currencies. We believe that investors deserve real access to and exposure to cryptocurrencies when the cryptocurrency markets are open, which is why our thematic baskets are so attractive.

Benefits of using Makara

Makara’s unique themed baskets allow customers to simplify the process of investing in cryptocurrencies. Customers have the opportunity to view a range of shopping carts tailored to their interests and goals. On Makara’s side, the technology manages the complexities of buying, selling and holding the underlying assets through Gemini, Makara’s trading and custody partner, so clients can be confident that they are optimised for the type of exposure they want. Makara currently offers the following investment baskets:

  1. Decentralised funding (DeFi) : The even distribution of funds across cryptocurrencies is the driving force behind this emerging trend.
  2. Inflation coverage : Fair allocation of funds to historical and future public repositories of value: tokenized gold and bitcoin.
  3. Universe: Risk-weighted exposure across the pool of investable assets on the Makara platform.
  4. Blue chip: A weighted basket of the largest cryptocurrencies with a market value of over $10 billion.
  5. Bitcoin: A unique basket of assets for investors who want access to the largest assets and most prestigious cryptocurrency in the industry.
  6. Ethereum: A unique basket of assets for investors who want access to the second largest asset and the first distributed computing platform.

In addition to the simplicity of the basket structure, the Makara platform will also provide investors with numerous educational resources.

Welcome newcomers

For those who are new to the field or just want to learn more about these assets, there will be access to a lot of self-study content about cryptocurrencies and the industry. Investors shouldn’t have to spend hours studying and tracking the market to demystify an asset class, says Sadie Rainey, co-founder of Makara. We believe that investors should understand what they are investing in, which is why education is an important part of Makara. We want our clients to feel like they are learning something new every day when they invest, Rani adds. Makara is now open to US residents 18 years of age and older. Waitlist members are the first investors invited to join Makara and also receive an automatic discount for their first six months with Makara.
